The World in Chaos series was supposed to be a cycle of maps of all of the Earth continents used to mark the places you – as a traveler – visited, making your life a little bit more interesting than other people do. Apparently the artist thought to himself that everyone can buy a map, so he decided to do a stylized one, with flowers, because flowers are the topic which is easy to make.

Whole concept has something from the sketchbook – it’s a gigantic mess. On the first glance only few of the maps has well-marked borders of continents, but sometimes the artists hides even the title of the map (like in Asia map, where “S” is hidden in two black-and-white stripped flowers, making it hard to recognize). As the creator of these maps says: I would like to make these maps interesting and fresh for the viewer as many times as he or she looks at them. Because of the use of many strange shapes and not well thought moves people are usually seeing variety of different things on these maps. It’s a little bit like looking at clouds.

If his idea is well made – it’s up to you, dear reader. This artworks may be the next big thing in your life or the worthless piece of scrabbles put on the larger format. However, I cannot say that there is not a touch of distinctive style in some places – the artist is fond of small circles which creates the illusion of space, as well as slightly shaping the flowers on the background to make them more enjoyable for people.

Other point of these maps are the influence of music – they were made while listening to music, which – on it’s own is not anything special – but the guy who made it is saying that he tried to convey the harmony of the music and individual style of the artist to the pictures, which can be seen in circles, flowing shapes and spikes going here and there.

But don’t listen to me! Here is the professional opinion of an Art Person: The art looks great. They work very nicely together. – Art Person.

Is the “World in Chaos” series interesting or useful? It depends on you – Kordian Studio is giving it away to anyone who wants to use it as a small map to mark where he or she has been. By the usage of colors you can make this maps even more appealing for your friends whose surely will ask you what the hell is this mess in your notebook?
